Carol Vernallis

Vernallis looks closely at editing in music videos and looks at how they are different compared to films. She looks at editing to the rhythm and the beat and how closely connected the editing to the specific song. She looks into camerawork and different edits for different genres.

Vernallis had 5 main points in which she summarised her observations on music videos, these include:

1. Special effects and obvious edits
2. Jump cuts are used
3. A master shot
4. Camera moves in time with music
5. Editing pattern is broken to draw attention
