Artist- Chipmunk ft Shalo and Skepta
Genre- Hip Hop/Rap
Settings/Location- Inside and outside a tatto shop - It is effective because it relates to the lyrics and the message being shown.
Generic signifiers you would expect from this genre- Close ups on props like alcahol, jewellery, sexual women. In this video we see close ups on well designed tattos and also see slightly exposed women with tattos ( Main thing/subject in the song ).
Iconography to help the audience- We see shots where tattoos are the main focus and also see plenty things related to tattos like tatto designs on paper, plus the needle machine which is used to make tattoos. We also have closeups of tattoos on womens body parts which appeals to men. This relates to the genre rap because in most rap videos we see tattos and exposed women.
Artists and Costume- We see the artists body parts like ( arms, chest, legs) revealed so we can see the tattoos they have and how mcuh they have, ( this means they are wearing tank tops/ no top, shorts)This relates to the genre because the more tattoos you have, the more gangster you look, and rap is made around gangsters.
Lighting- It is a black and white video which makes the video look dark and dim. This makes the tattoos look bold because the tattoos are contrasted with the white surrounding. This sets a very gangster/rap mood and sets an aggressive mood.
